You've heard the old sayin "Sticks and stone may break my bones but words will never harm me". Well that's a lie of the devil. Your physical wounds will heal. Those words just seem to live on and on. 😔
When my kids were little I called it playing rough. Whatever you say mean playing will be the first thing out of your mouth in anger. I always figured if we didn't play rough verbally then it would avoid mean words when they argued.
This advise isn't just for kids tho. I've seen grown folks tease and play rough too. Then those same words are used in anger. Those words are hard to erase once they are said. We relive them over and over in our heads for years to come...
Here is what the Bible has to say about your words:
“You are snared by the words of your mouth; You are taken by the words of your mouth.”Proverbs 6:2 NKJV
“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer.”
Psalms 19:14 NKJV
If we will practice our words and learn to use His Word things will change. We can even encourage and build ourselves up on His Word...
